The Luminaries is an exhibit in Brookfield Place near the World Trade Center in New York that's running until December 10. The exhibit is meant to reinforce the season's traditions of sharing, community and connection. But it's not just an art exhibit — visitors send wishes to the lanterns by touching the wishing station, which activates the lights. Every wish counts, because Arts Brookfield is donating $1, up to $25,000, to the GRAMMY Foundation., which supports music education programs for high school students.
